Programme Overview
The K1 (Junior Kindergarten) Programme at Le'Cole Maternelle School is thoughtfully designed to strengthen foundational academic skills while nurturing creativity, confidence, and independent thinking. At this stage, children become more curious, expressive, and eager to explore the world around them. Our curriculum provides a balanced blend of structured learning, hands-on experiences, and play-based activities that prepare children for future academic success.
The programme focuses on developing early literacy, numeracy, communication, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities through engaging classroom experiences. Children are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, express their ideas confidently, and work collaboratively with their peers.
Through meaningful learning opportunities, students develop essential life skills such as responsibility, leadership, self-discipline, and social awareness while building a strong foundation for primary school education.
Learning Areas
π Language & Literacy Development
Children enhance their communication and language skills through phonics-based learning, storytelling, reading readiness activities, vocabulary enrichment, and guided writing exercises. These activities help build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and expressing ideas effectively.
π’ Numeracy & Logical Thinking
The programme introduces children to number concepts, counting, sequencing, comparison, measurement, patterns, and basic mathematical operations through interactive games and hands-on activities that encourage logical reasoning and problem-solving.
π Environmental Awareness & General Knowledge
Students explore topics related to nature, seasons, animals, community helpers, transportation, and the world around them. These experiences help children develop curiosity, observation skills, and a deeper understanding of their environment.
