Programme Overview
The Pre-K Programme at Le'Cole Maternelle School is thoughtfully designed to bridge the gap between early childhood exploration and formal learning. At this stage, children are naturally curious, eager to communicate, and ready to develop foundational academic and life skills. Our programme provides a nurturing, stimulating, and engaging environment where young learners are encouraged to explore, question, create, and grow with confidence.
Through a balanced blend of structured learning, hands-on activities, creative expression, and play-based experiences, children build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, communication, social interaction, and problem-solving. The curriculum is carefully crafted to foster independence, self-confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.
Every day is filled with meaningful opportunities that inspire children to think critically, express themselves creatively, collaborate with peers, and discover the world around them.
Learning Areas
Language & Literacy Development
Children are introduced to early reading and writing concepts through interactive storytelling, phonics activities, picture reading, vocabulary building, rhymes, and pre-writing exercises. These experiences help develop communication skills, listening abilities, and a strong foundation for future literacy.
Numeracy & Mathematical Thinking
Young learners explore numbers, counting, patterns, shapes, measurements, sorting, sequencing, and problem-solving through hands-on activities and engaging games. Mathematical concepts are introduced in a fun and meaningful way to encourage logical thinking and confidence with numbers.
Theme-Based Learning
Learning is organized around exciting themes that connect children to their surroundings and everyday experiences. These themes encourage curiosity, exploration, observation, and deeper understanding of the world around them while integrating multiple areas of learning.
Science & Discovery
Children participate in simple experiments, sensory activities, nature exploration, and observation-based learning experiences. These activities foster curiosity, inquiry, creativity, and an early understanding of scientific concepts.
Creative Arts & Expression
Art, music, dance, drama, and movement activities allow children to express their ideas, emotions, and imagination freely. Through creative experiences, they develop fine motor skills, confidence, and an appreciation for self-expression.
Communication & Public Speaking
Children are encouraged to share their thoughts, participate in group discussions, recite rhymes, tell stories, and engage in show-and-tell activities. These experiences strengthen communication skills, confidence, and stage presence from an early age.
Social & Emotional Development
The programme helps children understand emotions, build friendships, develop empathy, and learn positive social behaviours. Activities are designed to encourage cooperation, respect, responsibility, and emotional resilience.
Physical Development
Indoor and outdoor activities support the development of gross motor and fine motor skills. Through games, sports, movement activities, and playground experiences, children improve coordination, balance, strength, and overall physical well-being.
